First responders called into action as city plunges into darkness
NEW YORK CITY — Much of New York City and surrounding areas were plunged into darkness Monday night as the superstorm lashed the East Coast with incredible wind and rain. Airports in metropolitan New York City have been closed until further notice and power outages number over 1 million customers.
