First Responders at Kenya Terror Attack

Stills from video show members of Kenya Red Cross rushing to help during violence

Friday, September 27, 2013

JOHANNESBURG (AP) — Dramatic new video shows Kenyan Red Cross workers rushing to help the injured amid the danger and chaos of the Islamic extremist terror attack on Nairobi's Westgate Mall.

The footage, obtained by The Associated Press and originally filmed by the Kenyan Red Cross when the assault began on September 21, shows responders entering the mall's upper level parking area and treating injured and sending them out by ambulance. There are also bodies on the pavement.

The end of the graphic video appears to show several seriously wounded and dead people where a children's cooking event had been taking place. Injured people are wailing and calling out for help.
