Laerdal Medical Patient Simulation
Patient Simulation
30-32 The Laerdal ALS Simulator is a realistic, interactive training manikin that simulates a wide range of life-saving skills in medical emergencies, including CPR, ACLS, NBC, trauma, bleeding control and first aid, and optimizes the key skills of emergency care providers. It features spontaneous breathing, airway control, voice, pre-programmed sounds, ECG and many other clinical features. The ALS Simulator’s highly mobile capabilities, and the fact that there are no cumbersome air tanks, hoses or cables required, make it ideal for field use, transport, and in-hospital training.
In addition to the ALS Simulator, Laerdal has released ALS Simulator Advanced PC software, which now allows users to control all clinical parameters from a laptop PC, enable video recording and review an event log with synchronized recording of the patient monitor and in-room video.
Laerdal’s Emergency Preparedness Scenarios cover five essential terrorism threats: IEDs, RDDs, nerve agent attacks, cyanide exposure and blister agents. Each threat group covers five different casualty cases that can be used individually or combined to simulate multiple casualty events. These scenarios now operate on the complete line of adult VitalSim-capable manikins, which include ALS Simulator, MegaCode Kelly, Nursing Anne, Nursing Kelly, and the Resusci Anne Simulator.
