Malissa M. Mercer Dies En Route to Work

Malissa M. Mercer was an EMT-B for Saginaw, Mich.-based Mobile Medical Response, Inc. Since December 2006, she worked in the Saginaw division and recently transferred to Tuscola County, located in Michigan's "Thumb." On the morning of June 8, 2008, Malissa was on her way to her shift in Fairgrove, Mich. Two miles from the base, Malissa was involved in a car accident, which killed her instantly. Malissa, who was only 21-years-old, was truly dedicated to the EMS profession. She loved her job and will be remembered as having unparalleled compassion for others and passion for life. Those who she left behind will miss her dearly.
