This gel pad can be placed on any backboard to improve patient comfort and prevent pressure sores. The pad can also be easily cooled or heated to aid in treating hyperthermia and hypothermia, keep trauma patients warm or act as an adjunct for inducing therapeutic hypothermia. It can also be folded in half as a head bed and cooled for use during splinting. The pad works under pediatric patients, keeping the spine and larger pediatric head in alignment and the airway open. After a call, the Turley Backboard Pad can be cleaned and used again and again for years.
