May 11th, 2010 -- Welcome to the BETA launch of new JEMS.com!
This week we're proud to unveil a new platform for the JEMS.com site, which provides a great content technology platform that will enable us to vastly expand how we deliver content, community, commerce and more to emergency medical providers worldwide.
On the new site, you'll notice a streamlined navigation that will let you connect with important topics and issues in EMS, great multimedia, jobs and more. And all of these are just the beginning, as we'll be adding new components to just about every facet, function and feature of the Web site in the coming weeks and months ahead.
You'll notice a few new things under the hood at JEMS.com, including:
- A New Job Board: Showcasing the latest EMS jobs. In the near future, we'll be adding more features including additional jobs from the Web, a new EMS Jobs eNewsletter and more. Plus, the frequency and volume of new jobs will increase.
- Integration with Our FireEMSBlogs.com Platform: Have you checked out the many EMS bloggers out there online? We'll bring them to you via our FireEMSBlogs.com widget throughout the site, which will expand to include dynamic content by topic soon.
- Archives from JEMS: Easily browse the current and recent issues of the Journal of Emergency Medical Services.
- More Multimedia: Our new platform enables us to add more of what you love with content -- photos, videos, downloads and just about anything multimedia. And that's only going to grow (see below).
- Find More, Quickly: Wherever you are browsing the new site, you'll be surrounded by other content and features that may interest you. We'll be expanding the personalization of this related content in the coming weeks to always give you another place to go within JEMS and elsewhere as you browse the site. Plus, our site search will also add more tools to refine search results quickly.
- Social Media: Various widgets and tools on the site allow you to much more easily connect with the latest discussions and find groups to join on our social/professional network, JEMS Connect, comment more easily on content that interests you AND share content more easily with your connections on Facebook, Twitter and elsewhere.
For the next week or so we'll be working out the kinks of the new site. If you see anything not working, out of the ordinary or just have a suggestion or question, please contact us.
What's Coming Soon
In the weeks and months ahead, we'll kick things into high gear by adding even more comprehensive content and features, including:
- Expanded Buyer's Guide & Products: Going from beyond the basic online company and product listings with dynamic profiles, enhanced search, multimedia and more.
- More Social Media: More integration with our professional network, JEMS Connect, and of course Facebook -- giving you some great tools to share content and collaborate with your industry colleagues and friends.
- Content Every Way: As you'll start to see in the coming weeks, we're adding more photos, videos and resources to the content on JEMS.com. And more importantly, we'll be adding more content overall.
Whether you're visiting JEMS.com for the first time, or a frequent visitor -- new to EMS or a veteran paramedic, the new JEMS.com will have something for you. The depth of resources and content available to you on the new site will only continue to grow this year and beyond. We hope you'll enjoy it as we grow and find the site a useful tool in your lifesaving mission.
