The Affordable Care Act (“Obamacare”) is driving unprecedented changes in EMS, and healthcare in general. As new incentives and payment structures introduce challenges, new roles for EMS providers emerge. In this webcast, Dr. Brent Myers and Dr. Jeff Beeson—medical directors at progressive EMS systems—will identify three key areas in which EMS will change dramatically over the next several years: patient movement, non-emergency calls and ambulance design.

You’ll learn:

  • New ergonomic technologies for moving patients that reduce the chance for provider injury
  • Innovative models for patient transport that capitalize on the fact that about 80% of EMS calls are not emergencies, but unscheduled medical calls
  • Key changes in ambulance standards that allow for modular design and other features that will enhance provider safety
  • How progressive EMS agencies are incorporating mobile integrated healthcare into their practices
  • Tips for building personnel support for these new initiatives
