This free one-hour webcast will educate you on the detection and treatment of hemorrhagic shock. During the presentation Dr. Peter Taillac, medical director for the Utah Bureau of EMS and Chad Brocato, Deerfield Beach (Fla.) fire chief and JEMS Games coordinator, will:

  • Identify major anatomical components of the cardiovascular system
  • Describe the physiological components of blood pressure
  • Differentiate between the different types of shock
  • Formulate a treatment plan for patients suffering from shock
  • Teach methods for avoiding shock

Peter P. Taillac is an associate clinical professor in the University of Utah Division of Emergency Medicine. He serves as the state medical director for the Utah Bureau of EMS, Utah Department of Health, and is the medical director for West Valley City (Utah) Fire and Emergency Medical Services.


Chad Brocato



Chad Brocato is the Deerfield Beach (Fla.) district fire chief for the Broward Sheriff’s Office Department of Fire Rescue & Emergency Services in South Florida. He’s also an adjunct professor at Kaplan University as well as the coordinator for the JEMS Games.
