Seven Injured in Maryland Boat Collision
Two boats collided on the Magothy River
PASADENA, Md. (MyFoxDC) - A Maryland state delegate was among many people who were seriously injured when two boats collided on the Magothy (May-GOTH-ee) River in Pasadena.
Lt. Keith Hamilton, an Anne Arundel County fire department spokesman, says Pasadena Republican Donald H. Dwyer Jr. was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment. He was listed in serious condition late Wednesday.
Sgt. Brian Albert, a Maryland Natural Resources Police spokesman, says the motorboats collided about 7 p.m. Wednesday, causing one to sink. Nearby residents used their own boats to help rescue those injured.
Hamilton says two boys, aged 12 and 7, and a 5-year-old girl were taken to Johns Hopkins Pediatric Trauma Center in serious condition. A 10-year-old boy was taken to hospital with less serious injuries. Two other adults were also injured.
