Iowa Paramedics Start Food for Homeless Program

Simple act of kindness by medics grows after helping one person

Thursday, December 5, 2013

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) - It started a week ago Wednesday. When our local paramedics spot a homeless person on the street, they give them a little bit of love in a paper bag. It's called "Food For The Hungry." It's Siouxland Paramedics way of giving back to a community they already help so much. "When we're working our daily shift, we go about and we see homeless people out during the days, the people that need the assistance, the people who don't have food, don't have water," said Paramedic Chase Peterson.
