O’Connor, MD, MPH, is professor and chair of emergency medicine at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va., and a past president of the National Association of EMS Physicians and Advocates for EMS. He is also the immediate past chair of the AHA’s Emergency Cardiac Care Committee.
