TeleTracking Technologies, Inc. today announced the availability of its second generation Real-Time Locating System, TeleTracking RTLS.

The new TeleTracking RTLS offering combines the company's 20 years' experience in patient flow optimization and resource management, proven enterprise software solutions, and superior RTLS locating accuracy to provide a single source solution for real-time information to help manage hospital operations logistics that impact better patient care, less waste and more revenue.

This advanced RTLS and comprehensive integrated strategy pave the way for dramatic hospital asset management financial returns as well as patient tracking, staff locating and critical process improvement workflows to drive maximum hospital capacity.

In addition to AssetTracking and TempTracking™ stand alone applications, TeleTracking RTLS will be integrated with the Capacity Management Suite™ of systems. This comprehensive solution, on the TeleTracking XT browser-based platform, provides a complete solution for core patient flow optimization and resource management, including:

PreAdmitTracking® with the electronic bedboard® System - Provides an unprecedented real-time digitized overview of bed status which lets hospitals get patients to the right bed

PatientTracking Portal™ View - Developed specifically for nurses and unit staff as a better way to quickly and comprehensively access patient information and keep track of critical clinical patient

BedTracking® System - Manages environmental services performance and volume trends to streamline bed turnover and manage current and pending bed

TransportTracking™ System - Designed to streamline patient transport functions, including automatically and intelligently assigning patient transport requests while monitoring and balancing workloads.

Further, TeleTracking RTLS outcomes will be supported by solutions from TeleTracking's Business Analytics Division. TeleTracking Business Analytics solutions provide a robust set of scorecards, dashboards and custom reporting tools and services to help hospitals transform data into key indicators and evidence trends which can drive strategic decisions for improving asset management, patient flow and accountability.

"In the past, the key obstacles for other RTLS vendors with providing true hospital operational improvements have been category knowledge, proven enterprise-class software, workflow process improvement expertise and the right level of RTLS locating accuracy to automate and drive meaningful outcomes," said TeleTracking CEO Anthony Sanzo. "TeleTracking has 20 years of category knowledge combined with proven enterprise software and a sophisticated consulting division staffed with a team of specialists who excel at process improvement." All TeleTracking patient flow and RTLS specialists have directed patient flow and equipment distribution redesign programs which integrate technology and process. Today, TeleTracking RTLS can drive these solutions to even more efficient performance.

A key component of TeleTracking RTLS is the accuracy of its new locating technology. Today, TeleTracking RTLS comprises a patented combination of enhanced IR and active RF technologies to provide the assured zone, room, bed and bay-level locating accuracy required to drive true capacity management with RTLS in hospitals. This locating precision is important not only to drive successful asset management cost reductions with RTLS, but is crucial to optimizing enterprise patient flow. In addition, TeleTracking RTLS is nearly 100% battery powered, making installation easy and scalable, and eliminating the need to take up valuable hospital electrical outlets.

"The ultimate plan," said TeleTracking RTLS chief operating officer Michael Gallup, "is to deliver everything needed for core asset management and patient flow optimization on one platform from a single, proven vendor. With the next generation TeleTracking RTLS and our Capacity Management Suite™, we've leveraged our unparalleled hospital operations expertise to architect an entire suite of solutions to address enhanced efficiency, save costs and generate revenue, all vital hospital benefits in today's challenging era of healthcare reform."

This fall, TeleTracking will also open an Enterprise Solution Center in its Raleigh, NC office as a forum for educating clients and prospective clients on the latest technology solutions. At the Enterprise Solution Center, customers can see the next generation of TeleTracking enterprise workflow solutions, including the RTLS platform, to solve workflow problem scenarios, get more out of existing hospital capacity and reduce costs.
