St. Charles County Ambulance District Equips Ambulances
with onBoard Mobile Gateway
Award winning EMS agency improves quality patient care and
fleet management with mobile communications platform
St. Peters, MO – In Motion Technology, the leader in mobile networking systems, announced today that the St. Charles County Ambulance District (SCCAD), largest EMS agency in Missouri, has equipped all of their ambulances and supervisor vehicles with the onBoard™ Mobile Gateway, a rugged in-vehicle mobile router, to assist with better medic analysis and fleet management.
To support one of the fastest growing areas of population in the United States SCCAD operates 14 permanent and 2 volunteer base stations, a training center, and facility headquarters. SCCAD serves over 355,000 residents of St. Charles County, Missouri and receives over 32,000 calls per year. SCCAD is transmitting 12-Lead ECG and Electronic Patient Care Reports (EPCR) through the onBoard Mobile Gateway directly to the hospital in order to increase the quality of patient care enroute and upon arrival to the emergency room. With the onBoard Mobility Manager, SCCAD is improving operations by monitoring ambulance diagnostics, network coverage and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) / Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) systems.
“The onBoard Mobile Gateway allows us to maximize the use of our network and allows our paramedics to focus on outreach and patient care,” said Greg Strauss, Computer Support, St. Charles County Ambulance District.
In Motion Technology’s onBoard™ Mobile Gateway turns St. Charles County Ambulance District ambulances into wireless hotspots, providing seamless, secure connectivity to laptops, tablets, EKG, EPCR, CAD, AVL, GPS and vehicle diagnostic systems. The onBoard™ Mobility Manager provides the ability to analyze information from Gateways in the field via a dashboard which shows emergency medical vehicle locations, and monitors vehicle diagnostics, devices and networks. Equipped with the latest GPS technology, the Gateway allows staff to know the precise location, direction and speed of vehicles at all times and dispatch the closest vehicle to the scene.
"St. Charles County Ambulance District is recognized for its award winning service and patient care and we are honoured to be partnered with an EMS agency that is truly making a difference", said Tony Morris, In Motion Technology’s vice president of sales and marketing.
