WOBURN, MA, ISSUED MAY 5, 2012…LifeLine Ambulance Service (www.lifelineamb.com) has introduced a new, state-of-the-art technology to its fleet of ambulances, the King Vision digital laryngoscope.

This breakthrough technology will now be available to all LifeLine paramedics who treat and transport patients.  The King Vision digital laryngoscope is viewed as innovative in critical care and emergency medicine.  This lightweight laryngoscope provides a practical solution to a long-standing problem for medical personnel trying to visualize a patient’s airway during an intubation process. This laryngoscope incorporates a camera in the tip of the disposable device and an attached reusable video display, which allows a doctor or paramedic a clear view of the vocal cords without manipulating and potentially damaging soft tissue, easing the process and simplifying the intubation procedure.

The King Vision has been developed by King Systems, a Consort Medical company. King Systems launched the King Vision in June 2011 and feedback from clinicians has been very positive.

Brian J. Connor, CEO of LifeLine Ambulance Service, said that his company is the first private company in Massachusetts to provide this technology to its paramedics.   “When a medic needs to see in the airway, seconds count,” he said, adding, “We want to provide the patients we treat in the field with every advantage and to provide them with highly-trained paramedics and the latest equipment.”
