HeartStation's Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) Released

Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) can save the life of cardiac arrest victims. However, they cannot always be found when an emergency arises.

Not being able to find the AED is no longer a problem as the Locator, utilizing wireless technology, immediately locates the nearest AED. The Locator then leads the rescuer precisely to the AED (even around corners and obstacles).

The Locator, developed by HeartStation, is a highly visible, very attractive, molded red heart, a little larger than a fire alarm pull. When activated, it triggers a 130 decibel siren and strobe at the AED site.

Multiple Locators can be placed throughout a building: entrances, common areas, near fire pulls, and anywhere an AED isn’t readily visible. The Locator is FCC approved and has a signal range of 500 feet line of sight or 250 feet obstructed (typical conditions).

The Locator will locate any brand or model of AED in any cabinet or wall bracket.

Receiver units can be programmed to specific Transmitters when multiple AED's are in use. A single Receiver can handle up to 100 Transmitters.

The Locator is available in a 5 pack (5 Heart Transmitters and 1 Receiver). Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail is $399. Additional Transmitters can be purchased individually for $59.

The Locator is scheduled for release June 1, 2011.
