ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- A medevac flight crash-landed at the Bethel airport Tuesday afternoon, apparently after its landing gear collapsed beneath it, according to Alaska State Troopers and the Federal Aviation Administration.

One person complained of pain after the crash, but no other injuries were immediately reported, said troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters.

Aboard were the pilot, two paramedics, an infant patient and the patient's parents, all of whom were taken to a clinic to be examined, Peters said. None was named Tuesday.

The Cessna 208 Caravan apparently landed normally, but its forward landing gear collapsed, according to the FAA. It was not clear if the aircraft slid and hit something or if the collapse was spontaneous, the FAA said.

The crash took place at about 2:40 p.m., when the plane hit a snow-filled area between a runway and taxiway. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident.

The aircraft is owned by Grant Aviation, a carrier that services the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta.
