WINNIPEG - A patient being taken by ambulance to hospital is in stable condition after the emergency vehicle was involved in a three-vehicle collision in Winnipeg.

Police say half the rear bumper was torn off the ambulance before it ended up half on a boulevard following the Wednesday night crash with two cars.

One ambulance attendant was taken to hospital for examination after the collision at an intersection not far from the Health Sciences Centre. There is no word on the conditions of the drivers and any passengers who were in the cars.

There was major damage to the front end of one of the cars, while the second car sustained only minor damage.

Police cordoned off the area and rerouted traffic as they investigated the crash. (Winnipeg Free Press)
