Veteran Fairfax EMT Trainer Honored by Agency

FAIRFAX, Va. — A 16-year veteran of the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department will be honored as the agency's Career Firefighter of the Year for 2011.

Lt. Marc Davidson of the Fire and Rescue Academy will be recognized at a ceremony Wednesday in Fairfax.

He currently serves as an instructor at the academy's Basic Training Unit, teaching recruits the skills necessary to serve as a firefighter or EMT for the department.

The county's fire and rescue department has nearly 1,400 uniformed staff in addition to numerous volunteers.
