Boy suffered multiple injuries after being struck and then falling from the ride.

NORRIDGE, Ill. - Authorities say a 3-year-old boy died after falling from a children's roller coaster at an indoor amusement park in suburban Chicago.

The Cook County medical examiner identified the boy Sunday as Jayson Dansby of Dolton.

The fall happened Saturday at Go Bananas in Norridge. Police chief James Jobe says the boy was near the front of the Python Pit roller coaster with his twin brother when he got under the safety bar.

The medical examiner says the boy suffered multiple injuries after being struck and then falling from the ride. Jobe called it "a tragic accident."

Park owner Jerrold Marks says his heart goes out to the boy's family. He says the park is cooperating with investigators.

The park hosts children's birthday parties and other family events.
