ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A suspected drunken driver crashed into the truck of a rescue crew that was handling a body found on the shoulder of a roadway.

The Albuquerque Journal reports (http://bit.ly/AnwsyL ) 27-year-old Thomas Montano has been charged with aggravated drunken driving, failure to yield to emergency equipment, reckless driving and failure to maintain his lane.

Authorities say the incident occurred early Friday when Montano crashed his car into the rescue truck, slammed into a guardrail, spun around and hit an ambulance.

Deputies and paramedics were on the road's shoulder handling the body of an unidentified 59-year-old man who was found there.

Crew members had to jump out of the way, and one suffered a minor hip injury.

There were no apparent signs of trauma to the body found on the road's shoulder.
