BRADY TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Officials have confirmed with WJAC-TV that a volunteer member of the Mount Union Fire Company has died in a ambulance crashed on Saturday morning.
Department members said the ambulance had transporting a patient to J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital in and was returning to Mount Union when it lost control on Route 22, hit an embankment and flipped over.
WJAC-TV reports that the state police said 22-year-old Ethan Amsbaugh was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the ambulance during the crash. Amsbaugh was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The driver, 55-year-old Deborah Mease was treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital.
An investigation is ongoing to determine what caused the crash.
