MARION, Ky. - A western Kentucky emergency responder has died in a fire at her home.
The Paducah Sun reported the death on Sunday afternoon of 47-year-old Glenda Tinsley, who authorities say called 911 from inside her burning home, then became trapped.
Tinsley's body was recovered Monday morning and taken for medical examination. Kentucky State Police later said she died of smoke inhalation.
James Ivy, Crittenden County Emergency Medical Services director, said Tinsley was an EMT and a volunteer firefighter.
Crittenden County Coroner Joe Myers says cadaver dogs from Clarksville, Tenn., were used to search the burned out home for other possible victims, but found none.
