Between now and October 15th, JEMS.com and many other industry bloggers and Web sites will sport a pink header and our logo now includes a ribbon in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Several of our bloggers within the FireEMSBlogs.com network, led by EpiJunky of PinkWarmDry.com and Justin from HappyMedic.com, have been spreading word of an initiative "EMS for the Cure". You can visit the group support page here within the Susan G. Komen Passionately Pink for the Cure site to donate to the cause.
"I'm just a medic from Ohio who has two family members and countless patients who have been knocked down by breast cancer," EpiJunky writes. "I'm very fortunate that I still have my Aunt and my Mother in Law.Too many of us have lost loved ones to this disease."
Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer.
HappyMedic.com has asked other EMS bloggers and sites to join the pink challenge, by turning the backgrounds and/or logos of their sites pink through October 15th, and we're joining in that effort.
