Olga Berdial | | Wednesday, February 1, 2012

The EMS Today Conference & Expo, an Elsevier Public Safety event, is a leader in disseminating quality education for emergency medical services (EMS) worldwide.

Each year, the JEMS Games are produced as a special event at the EMS Today Conference & Expo. The goal of the games is to provide EMS professionals with a valuable combination of education and competitive rivalry. Teams from around the U.S. will compete in the preliminary rounds on Wednesday February, 29, 2012. The top three teams from the preliminaries will go on to compete in the final round on Friday, March 2, 2012.

The games present competing teams with a patient care scenario which tests their skills as EMS professionals. The game’s final scenario, related to disaster management, is developed by industry experts and JEMS contributors who know the obstacles professionals face on a daily basis. Emergency service personnel look toward the JEMS Games to create realistic situations in which they can test their skills and compete against fellow EMS professionals. Additionally, the final competition gives attendees, watching the competing teams, with quality CEH based on the scenario. The EMS Today Conference & Expo provides training, which is one factor in the key to professional success, and the Games bring that training to life, providing a “hands-on” teaching aspect.

The JEMS Games Founding Sponsor is Laerdal Medical.

Supporting sponsors are: B. Braun, Bridgford Foods, Disaster Management Systems, Karl Storz, Verathon Medical and Vidacare.
