KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Five elementary school students and a woman have been taken to hospitals after two Blount County school buses and a car collided on a bridge in Knoxville.

WBIR-TV (http://on.wbir.com/11jFWIC ) reported the children were taken to Children's Hospital for observation and the 20-year-old woman, who was the driver of the car, was listed in stable condition at University of Tennessee Medical Center.

Police said two buses were carrying students from Carpenters Elementary School to the Knoxville Civic Auditorium for a ballet performance.

Officers cited bus driver Joseph Hackney of Blount County for careless driving and expired license tags. Police said Hackney's bus didn't slow as the bus in front of him encountered traffic on Alcoa Highway. Hackney's bus sideswiped the lead bus and then swerved into the path of the car.
