VASSAR, Mich. (AP) — Police say five children were thrown from a sport utility vehicle after the driver lost control and went into a ditch in Tuscola County.
MLive.com reports (http://bit.ly/Q5Hwfq) four kids were taken by ambulance to Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw with serious injuries. Three other children and the driver, Amy Lynn Johnroe of Mayville, were taken by ambulance to Caro Community Hospital with minor injuries.
The Michigan State Police say the SUV with eight people inside crossed the center line Tuesday evening. When the 29-year-old Johnroe tried to swerve back into her lane, police say she lost control.
The vehicle entered a ditch and rolled over, throwing five children who were in the back seat. The SUV landed on its side against several trees.
State troopers say the wreck remains under investigation.
