RYE, N.H. — A day on the ice closely resembled a day in the office for firefighter and paramedic Jake MacGlashing, after a man collapsed during a pick-up hockey game earlier this month.
MacGlashing, 32, a five-year veteran of the Rye Fire Department, was working Jan. 3, but used a few hours of his personal time to participate in a weekly hockey game with his brother, Jesse MacGlashing, 37, and acquaintances at the ice arena in Rochester. During the game, a 52-year-old man collapsed on the ice, just a few minutes before their rink time was to end at 11 p.m.
