RAYSAL, W.Va. (AP) — Police are investigating a collision between a coal truck and an ambulance that killed a McDowell County rescue squad member.
The McDowell County Sheriff's Department tells media outlets that the victim was driving the ambulance when the coal truck crossed the center line and hit it. Her name hasn't been released.
The accident occurred Wednesday on State Route 83 in Raysal.
The sheriff's department says the McDowell County Ambulance Authority ambulance wasn't transporting a patient.
