LAKESIDE, Mont. - Officials say a climbing wall collapse at a northwestern Montana church camp sent eight children to area hospitals with broken bones and heavy bruising.
Glacier Camp and Conference Center Interim Director Steve Edwards says the collapse occurred about 10 a.m. Saturday at the camp next to the scenic Flathead Lake near the town of Lakeside.
Edwards tells the Daily Inter Lake newspaper in Kalispell that three boys _ ages 11, 13 and 14 _ and a 13-year-old girl were taken to a hospital in Polson.
He says four other children were taken to the nearby Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
He says the wall was about 8 feet tall and used to practice rock climbing. He says adults had to lift the wall off two children after it fell.
