SAN FRANCISCO - San Francisco police say a driver lost control of her car and crashed into a a group of people waiting for the bus, injuring five.
The crash happened shortly after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at a Muni bus stop in the city's Visitacion Valley neighborhood.
Fire Department spokeswoman Lt. Mindy Talmadge says four of the five victims were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Talmadge says a 24-year-old woman driving a Ford SUV told authorities that she lost steering power as she came down a hill. The driver veered toward an apartment building where people were seeking shade from the sun while waiting for the bus.
Police say the woman remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
