'Frequent Flier' Dies in California Ambulance

The man used to call for an ambulance on average of nearly twice a day

FRESNO, Calif. -- A Fresno homeless man who called for an ambulance on average of nearly twice a day for more than a year, racking up hundreds of thousands of dollars in costs, died after being taken by ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center.

Lonzel McPeters, 52, was picked up Saturday morning, said Daniel Lynch, director of Fresno County's Emergency Medical Services. McPeters died Saturday, the county coroner confirmed Sunday. His injuries were not traumatic and don't seem suspicious, the coroner said.
