SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities are trying to determine why a car collided with an Amtrak train near Santa Barbara, Calif., killing a man and injuring a little girl.
The Santa Maria Times reports (http://bit.ly/JKL3WZ ) the crash occurred at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday along state Highway 1. The driver of the Ford Focus was killed, and the girl riding in the car was taken to Marian Regional Medical Center.
Amtrak spokeswoman Christina Leeds says none of the 132 passengers or crew aboard the train reported injuries.
The train, traveling from Seattle to Los Angeles, was delayed about four hours.
