| Wednesday, August 22, 2012

BURLINGTON, MA, August 22, 2012 – Jones & Bartlett Learning, a division of Ascend Learning, announced today its acquisition of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) product line from Elsevier, Inc. Effective immediately, EMS resources previously published under the Elsevier brand, including the market-leading Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) and Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS), published in partnership with the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT), are now part of the Jones & Bartlett Learning EMS product line.

“Elsevier’s well-respected EMS product line has a loyal customer base, thanks in large part to its partnership with NAEMT,” said Ty Field, CEO of Jones & Bartlett Learning. “Looking forward, JBL is excited to work with NAEMT on PHTLS and AMLS, and to continue to develop quality continuing education courses. Adding PHTLS and AMLS, along with all of the EMS training programs in the Elsevier catalog to our existing line of award-winning EMS resources, only strengthens Jones & Bartlett Learning’s position in the public safety community.”

Elsevier offers training programs and continuing education courses for every level of EMS provider, from emergency medical technician to critical care, in print and digital formats. Jones & Bartlett Learning will continue to support and enhance these programs, domestically and internationally. Resources that are part of the acquisition will be available on the Jones & Bartlett Learning web site. Existing Elsevier customers can expect the highest level of customer service and support from the Jones & Bartlett Learning team.
