PANAMA CITY, Fla. -- Spring breakers are already hitting the beaches. And Bay Emergency Medical Services is getting ready. They announced Thursday the formation of a new surf rescue team and lifeguard training program.

The new surf team consists of seven Paramedics and E-M-T s who can respond quicker in rescuing trapped swimmers in the gulf. Bay Medical Center is teaming up with officials from around the area who will provide service 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
