Easy Stretcher-to-Bed Transfer
The Air Pal Patient Mover air mattress allows a 98-lb. person using just two fingers to laterally transfer a 200-lb. (or more) patient from the ambulance stretcher to a hospital bed. A low-pressure, high-volume blower forces air out of a series of pinholes in the underside of the mattress (see below), similar to those on an air-hockey table. This flow of air reduces the friction and creates the weight-moving advantage.
