ImageTrend, Inc. reported today that it will implement a new statewide fire reporting system for the State of Iowa. Iowa fire departments will be able to access the Web-based system, which is built using ImageTrend’s Fire Bridge technology, to report fire incidents. According to State Fire Marshal Ray Reynolds, the new system could save the state’s tax payers as much as $100,000 by reducing software costs for individual fire departments.
“The Iowa fire service has been waiting for a long time for an on-line system like this,” said Randy Novak, Bureau Chief of the Fire Service Training Bureau and Project Manager for the On-Line Fire Reporting System. “They are excited about this implementation.”
The new system will establish a more efficient method for the state’s 876 fire departments to remain compliant with reporting requirements of state law. When combined with other sources across the nation, the data will be used to develop education and procedures with the goal of reducing fires and enhancing public safety.
“We are looking forward to launching the statewide fire incident reporting system with the State of Iowa. With five additional states implementing a similar solution, we are anticipating that other states will begin to take more notice of what we can do for them,” said Mike McBrady, President of ImageTrend, Inc., “We are looking forward to this exciting opportunity and the challenges that may lie ahead.”
In addition to implementing six statewide fire reporting systems, ImageTrend provides the statewide EMS (emergency medical system) data collection and reporting software in 26 states.
