AUSTIN, Texas – ESO Solutions, Inc., an Austin-based software company that creates and distributes software solutions used by emergency medical services (EMS) and fire departments, was presented a Top Innovator Award on October 16 at the New York State Vital Signs Conference in Syracuse. The award was one of only 20 presented to companies nationwide to recognize them for launching or redeveloping the most innovative products for EMS over the past year.

ESO Solutions won the award for its ESO QuickSpeak language translation software. The only product of its kind on the market and designed specifically for use in the EMS industry, ESO QuickSpeak is a translation tool that enables EMS providers in the field to communicate with non-English speaking patients. The software connects providers with their patients in seven different languages, enabling patients to understand and respond to 400 questions and commands in more than 20 categories of assessment and treatment. The product integrates with ESO Pro, ESO Solutions’ full suite of prehospital patient reporting software, which also includes web-based and mobile electronic patient care reporting (ePCR) software, quality management, and data reporting modules

ESO QuickSpeak also has received praise from the EMS and fire agencies that use it in their day-to-day work. Chief Paul Mattson of the South Park Ambulance District in Fairplay, Colorado, said of the product, “You notice that people get a little defensive because not knowing English can be intimidating for them. QuickSpeak will help make our crews less nervous in these situations.”

The award was announced by EMS World publisher Scott Cravens. Published continuously since 1972, EMS World is a print and online magazine considered a leading source in the world for clinical and educational material designed to improve the delivery of prehospital emergency medical care.

“We are excited to have been selected to receive this prestigious award. ESO QuickSpeak is a good example of ESO’s commitment to creating industry-leading products that help EMS and fire agencies improve the pre-hospital experience and the quality of care for their patients,” said Jenny Smith, Director of Communications for ESO Solutions.
