MEDFORD, Ore. -- Lightning shocked a fast-food worker emptying the dishwasher in Southern Oregon over the weekend, as a storm knocked out power to thousands of Rogue Valley customers.
Firefighters say the McDonald's employee in Central Point was conscious Sunday and was sent to the hospital for observation. They say lightning apparently hit a pipe on the roof.
The Mail Tribune newspaper reported a half inch of rain fell in about 20 minutes southwest Medford.
