Emergency Medical Services Faculty (2 Openings)

This is a full-time (35 hours per week, 36 weeks per year) faculty position. This position may be assigned to a 36-week contract throughout the 52-week work year.  The exact terms of the work year for this position are subject to the terms of the Professional Contract Supplement between the College and the Northcentral Technical College Faculty Association. This position is responsible for instruction in the Emergency Medical Services Program.  Areas of instruction include but are not limited to First Responder, EMT-Basic (and other levels as certified).  Classes are offered throughout the district and travel may be required.  

Anticipated Start Date:  August 16, 2010.

NTC is located in Wausau, Wisconsin, and has 5 regional campuses located in Antigo, Medford, Phillips, Spencer and Wittenberg.  A portion of your assignment could be at any one of these regions. 

QUALIFICATIONS:   Certified EMS instructor to Basic Level (higher certification preferred). Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Safety, ropes, rescue, extrication and EVOC experience/certification preferred.  Must be innovative, optimistic, flexible and a self-starter. Applicants must be able to provide verification of current status as a national registered Emergency Medical Technician, certified CPR Instructor for the American Heart Association and a current Wisconsin driver’s license.  Must be able to meet state requirements for certification as an Emergency Medical Technician Instructor, current curriculum experience preferred.  Paramedic level Instructor preferred.  Organizational skills. Ability to carry, lift and transport supplies and equipment weighting up to 50 pounds. Travel required. Two years (4,000 hours) of verified work experience as a qualified worker in the occupational area in which certification is requested. Must have already attended Wisconsin EMS/Coordinator workshop.  Applicants must be certifiable with the Wisconsin Technical College System. 

SALARY:   Salary Range for a Bachelor’s degree: $42,807 - $70,279.  Salary commensurate with academic preparation and occupational experience.
