Gary M. Klein, MD, MPH, MBA, CHS-V, FAADM

Gary M. Klein, MD, MPH, MBA, CHS-V, FAADM, draws from more than 20 years of achievements throughout the health-care industry, including senior positions at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, Kaiser Permanente, and Sanofi Pharmaceuticals Inc. Currently, Dr. Klein is responsible for the strategic development of Vangent’s Health Solutions services to the federal government and commercial sector as well as directing innovative health information management technology solutions which will ultimately help guide public policy and health data standards. He’s board certified in disaster medicine and emergency medicine and maintains Level V certification in Homeland Security through the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute. He has lectured and published extensively and is a co-author of the book Guide to the Electronic Medical Practice: Strategies to Succeed, Pitfalls to Avoid. Dr. Klein also served on the ground in N.Y.C. as part of the federal response to the 9/11 attacks, serves on several HIMSS committees, including the global EHR task force and the first responder task force, and most recently was appointed to the physician leaders working group. In addition, Dr. Klein is president of the American Academy of Disaster Medicine and a faculty member of the International Center for Prehospital and Disaster Medicine. Dr. Klein continues to practice and teach emergency medicine through the military health system, DoD.
