MONOC Performs Free Medical Screenings at Jersey Shore Dreams Center

Wall, NJ – March 18, 2014 --- In an ongoing effort to meet the diverse needs of the community, MONOC Mobile Health Services recently provided free medical screenings at the Jersey Shore Dreams Center in Asbury Park.  MONOC paramedics, EMTs and EMS Physician performed several screenings including blood glucose testing, eye exams, blood pressure checks and 12 lead ECGs to almost two dozen people that otherwise would not have regular access to medical care.  MONOC’s EMS Physician also went over participants’ medications with them in order to ensure safe medication use and minimize drug interactions.  In addition to the health screenings, participants were also given referral information for services ranging from family planning to how to register for affordable healthcare.

MONOC’s President and CEO, Vince Robbins, said “The ultimate goal is to have healthier communities where people receive appropriate medical care so they won’t need to dial 9-1-1.  This type of service is a natural fit since our paramedics and EMTs are well known in the community and out on the streets every day.”

The Jersey Shore Dream Center is a non-profit outreach and rehabilitation center whose mission is to give hope to the hopeless, food to the hungry and clothes to the needy utilizing nearly a dozen unique community based programs.
