2014-Eagles-Physio-Webster-web

Physio-Control President Brian Webster briefed the major U.S. municipal medical directors (aka “Eagles”) on Physio-Control’s new and future product capabilities, the implications and advances that will come from their recent purchase of Sansio Data Systems, their partnership with PulsePoint to help mobilize communities to respond to sudden cardiac arrest events with CPR and AED deployment, and their commitment to advancing technology to allow for better service and capabilities to patients and EMS systems, community paramedicine, hospital/prehospital interfaces—and the patients served by those systems/agencies/hospitals. He noted that Physio-Control is committed to working to enable 100% device connection 24/7.

Webster told the Eagles that Physio-Control and Sansio are committed to making sure the next generation of products including “a computer that does cardiac monitoring” that will incorporate all the aspects of care and all the products on the market. He noted that Sansio will continue to develop systems that can incorporate and transmit data fro all cardiac manufacturers, not just Physio-Control.

Looking to the future, Webster said he (and his team at Physio-Control) envision care being rendered based on the age and size of the patient via data and analysis from Physio-Control products like their LUCAS 2 Chest Compression System and TrueCPR Coaching Device which uses patient size, compliance and analytics to optimize the quality and performance of manual CPR and provide simple, accurate feedback to rescuers in both real time and post-event. The TrueCPR device accurately measures compression depth on compliant surfaces and in moving vehicles using a unique technology is called Triaxial Field Induction. Webster sees future Physio-Control products interfacing with patient parameters and field data to enable more “patient-specific care” to be administered.

This year’s Eagles Retreat features medical directors from across North America as well as Great Britain, the Netherlands and New Zealand.
