Rescue3 International & Earth Experience Announce New Online Flood & Swiftwater Awareness Course

In an answer to the increase in rescuer participation in water emergencies and worldwide flooding events, Rescue3 International and Earth Experience have created an online course that is NFPA compliant, saves time and money and is Rescue3 certified.

Rescue3 International the worldwide leader in Technical Water and Rope rescue training has teamed up with Earth Experience International to create the most comprehensive online awareness level course available today.  Created to train employees to an Awareness Level, the course meets all requirements for NFPA compliance and leads users through the foundation of Swiftwater and Flood rescue.   The Online Swiftwater and Flood Awareness course will be offered for $65 including testing and certification.  The companies will also offer a discount to agencies who purchase courses in bulk.

Check out the Online Flood Awareness Course for yourself. Designed by rescue professionals for agencies, municipalities and entire organizations to be able to better train employees to:

  • SUPPORT TECHNICAL WATER RESCUE TEAMS
  • AVOID POTENTIALLY LETHAL SITUATIONS AS A FIRST RESPONDER
  • PREPARE FOR EMERGENCY AND DISASTER FLOOD EVENTS
  • BUILD A FOUNDATION THAT CAN LEAD TO TECHNICIAN TRAINING

Earth Experience and Rescue3 have created the course to be challenging and when a final exam is completed successfully, students will be certified by Rescue3 and will receive a valid certification.  The course provides information, graphics, and dynamic videos that show the information and technical skills necessary to support flood emergencies safely and effectively.

REDUCE TRAINING COSTS
Agencies can now significantly reduce costs normally incurred with traditional field based courses by eliminating expenses for travel, wages and overtime.  This is estimated to save somewhere between $300- $600 per day per person as opposed to a traditional course. The online Rescue3 Awareness course can be learned in off hours, at home, 24 hours a day taking advantage of normal paid hours and wages.

SCALE TRAINING TO MEET YOUR NEEDS
Training a single individual or 1,000s of employees at a time, allows agencies to trust everyone is on the same page in an emergency. Awareness level training has never been more easily available or effective.   This ability also adds considerable value for agencies that are spread over a broad geographic area such as county, state or interstate agencies.  With the Rescue3 online Swiftwater and Flood Awareness course employees hundreds of miles away can all be trained at the same time.

FLOOD DISASTER PREPAREDNESS
Increase in storm and hurricane events has led to an increased risk and involvement of Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement and Military personnel as well as city personnel.  As the worldwide leader in technical water rescue training, Rescue3’s new online course provides a way to deliver the necessary training to those that are at risk.

MITIGATE RISK AND INCREASE EFFECTIVENESS
Agencies can now mitigate both injuries and fatalities of support personnel through education and training on flood and swiftwater emergencies and rescue techniques.  Improvement of agencies’ effectiveness of successful rescue and disaster recovery no longer belongs to a select few.

Earth Experience President Jared Cruce on the overall inspiration and mission of the Online Awareness Course:
“The Rescue3 Online Swiftwater and Flood Awareness course is a foundation level course.  We wanted to create an amazing product that serves a very valuable need.  It educates and trains personnel that aren’t technicians, but may either support water rescues outside the “hot zone,” or arrive at a scene as a first responder.  We’ve all seen videos, heard stories or have a personal story where lack of basic knowledge in water rescue ends up in critical mistakes and tragedy. Now with a few hours of study and passing a knowledge base exam online, we can educate personnel on essential scene evaluation, what to avoid and give them a critical knowledge base of what to expect in a real water emergency.  This is great stuff we feel is long overdue!”

The Online Swiftwater and Flood Awareness Certification Course features comprehensive information in rescue philosophy and communication, “15 Absolutes,” Hydrology, Flood Hazards, Scene Size Up, Personal Equipment, Personal Safety and Survival and much more.  To access the course, users logon directly from the Rescue3 website Online Training Page where they create a user account and either enter a course code received from their agency or pay with a credit card.  From there the user can access the course 24/7 as much as needed, download PDF work files, take practice quizzes and finally when ready take the final exam.   Upon successful completion of the exam, the student will receive a certification confirmation and will be mailed a certificate directly from Rescue3.  The course certification is similar to other rescue courses in that it should be renewed every three years.
