Paramedics Plus Statement on Court Victory

An Alameda County jury has found in favor of Paramedics Plus in American Medical Response’s (AMR) lawsuit against the company.

In its suit, AMR accused Paramedics Plus of violating California’s predatory pricing laws in its bid to win the emergency medical service contract for Alameda County in 2010. In its 12-0 verdict, the jury found Paramedics Plus did not violate the law in its proposal for the Alameda County exclusive operating area.

“We are very pleased that the truth has been upheld, and Paramedics Plus has been vindicated by this jury’s finding,” said, Ron Schwartz, President of Paramedics Plus. “It’s unfortunate that AMR chose to pursue their groundless claims in court resulting in wasted time and resources for all involved.

“Paramedics Plus has a track record of operating with integrity,” Schwartz said. “We partner with the communities we serve to provide quality care in compliance with our contractual obligations.  Our goal is to continue to build on our successes as we keep our commitments to the people of Alameda County and other communities we serve.”

In addition to Alameda County, Paramedics Plus, LLC is the exclusive provider of emergency and non-emergency medical transportation to the following locations:

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Tulsa, Oklahoma
Pinellas County, Florida
Fort Wayne, Indiana

Paramedics Plus looks forward to providing affordable, high performance medical transportation services to other communities throughout the United States.

Paramedics Plus, headquartered in Tyler, Texas, is a subsidiary of East Texas Medical Center Regional Healthcare System. The company operates 239 ambulances, providing over 400,000 transports annually, and employs 1,875 employees.  Information about Paramedics Plus can be obtained on its website, www.paramedicsplus.com.
