Students Injured in Pittsburgh School Van Crash

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Four students were being evaluated at a hospital for minor injuries after one Pittsburgh Public Schools van rear-ended another.

District spokeswoman Ebony Pugh says the accident happened just before 8 a.m. Monday. The district's schools break for the summer on Wednesday.

Two of the injured students were on a van taking them to Pittsburgh Langley, a school for students in kindergarten through eighth grade, which hit another van with students from Pittsburgh Pioneer, a school for students with special needs. Pugh says two Pioneer students also suffered minor injuries.

It wasn't immediately clear how the crash occurred or what kind of injuries the students suffered, but Pugh says they're expected to be all right after they're treated and released from Allegheny General Hospital.

Police were continuing to investigate the incident.
