Head-On Farm Worker Van Collision in Arizona Injures 4, Kills 4

DOUGLAS, Ariz. (AP) — A head-on collision between a van carrying farm workers and another vehicle on a highway in southeastern Arizona has left four Arizonans dead and four others injured.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the van and a pickup truck collided early Thursday when the truck crossed the center line on U.S. 191 three miles north of Douglas.

DPS Officer Carrick Cook says the dead included three Douglas residents who were among seven people riding in the van to work at a dairy farm in Willcox and the pickup's driver, 49-year-old Dena Casella of Douglas.

The others killed included 50-year-old Benito Gastelo and Elizabeth Cajigas and Ramona Medrano, both in their mid 50s.

The injured were flown to Tucson hospitals with injuries described as serious but not life threatening.
