2013 FDNY EMS Week Poster Unveiled

050813a1

The 2013 EMS Week poster was unveiled at FDNY Headquarters on May 8, featuring four newly graduated EMTs and the slogan, ‘We Make a Difference.’

“You respond to more than 1.3 million calls each year, so you truly do make a difference for the people who live, work and visit New York City,” Fire Commissioner Salvatore Cassano said.

The poster features EMTs Jennifer Banegas, Kahmil Garcia, Stacie Miller and Jose Vargas, who all graduated from the EMS Academy on March 28.

“These folks are the future of the job and they make a difference every day,” Chief of EMS Abdo Nahmod said.

The 2013 poster was designed and produced by Vanguard Direct and is intended to raise awareness about the life-saving skills of FDNY EMS members.  The posters will be displayed across the city in more than 300 kiosks donated by Van Wagner.

The four EMTs said they were honored – if not a little surprised – to see themselves as the faces of EMS Week this year.

“I’m at a loss for words,” said EMT Garcia. “It’s a great honor to represent the FDNY.”

EMT Banegas added, “It’s mind-blowing that this will be everywhere in the city. It’s a good way to start my career.”
