Bus Falls from Viaduct in Rio, 7 Reported Killed

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — A passenger bus has fallen off a viaduct in central Rio de Janeiro, killing at least seven people.

Images aired by the Global TV Network showed the overturned bus occupying part of Avenida Brasil, one of the main thoroughfares in Rio.

The footage shows helicopters, ambulances and several rescue vehicles at the scene Tuesday ferrying out the injured to hospitals.

The cause of the accident and the exact number of people killed and injured were not immediately known.
