1 Killed, 4 Injured When Truck Drives Onto Los Angeles Sidewalk

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say one person was killed and four were injured when a pickup truck ran onto a crowded sidewalk and crashed into a building in downtown Los Angeles.

City fire officials say several ambulances responded after the crash Sunday afternoon at 4th Street and Broadway.

There was no immediate word on the conditions of the injured.

City News Service reports the vehicle came to rest partly, but not completely, inside a building.

The crash scene is at an intersection with many stores and restaurants at the center of the city's historic core.

The police department is investigating the cause of the crash.
