Two Injured After Tractor-Trailer Cab Plunges Over Highway

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say two Canadian men have been injured after the tractor-trailer truck they were traveling in crashed on an elevated stretch of Interstate 81 in Syracuse, causing the vehicle's cab to plunge 25 feet onto a sidewalk.

Fire officials tell the Post-Standard of Syracuse (http://bit.ly/O3IumH ) that the truck was headed north on I-81 around 12:30 a.m. Friday when it crashed. Officials say the cab briefly dangled over the edge of the highway before falling. The rest of the truck remained on the highway.

Firefighters pulled the men from the cab. They were taken to a Syracuse hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Officials say the men, ages 52 and 53, are from Brampton, Ontario.

The truck was carrying electronic cargo. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
